Langhin Municipal Board

Langhin Municipal Board is one of the developing town in the Karbi Anglong District of AssamIndia. It is located under Sub-Division of Howraghat, Karbi Anglong. It shares its boundaries with the Swargathi village in the west and east Phuloni Gaon, NH29 to the North Ulta Pani and Pamgaon Paddy Field. Langhin is well connected by Ground transportation. Swargathi is the prominent river that flows through the Westhern boundary of the town, and forested areas include such saleable trees as Tectona grandis (teak). This place practices organic farming, also modern agriculture following recent scientific developments.

Langhin is located at GPS Longitude 26.199615, Longitude 93.133898. The town is spread at 17.40sq.KM.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[2] The Langhin Municipal Board has a population of 10522 of which 5065 are males while 5457 are females as per report released by Census India 2011.

Langhin Municipal Board has total administration of over 7010 (As Per 2019 Town voter census report) houses to which it supplies basic amenities . It is also authorized to build roads within Town Committee limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.

Most of the residents are members of Scheduled Tribe(P), followed by Bodo, Assamese, Bengali, Karbi and Hindi speaking people.
